Instagram account Blossom, which appears to be based in America and boasts 3.9million followers, shared a fascinating five-step guide to cleaning stained lunch boxes

The video showed a lunch box which had been left clouded after being washed unsuccessfully in the dishwasher

The cleaning expert started the process by adding a generous scoop of sugar to the container, pictured, to help break down the stains and absorb the grease. And in a rather unusual next move, the expert added six ice cubes to the mix and let them melt, which helped take apart the stain

Lastly, a glass of water is added until the concoction bubbles up, before it is left to sit for ten minutes

Author: Bridie Pearson-Jones
