LVT Fitting FAQs
No, never directly. The grout lines of old tiles or the gaps in floorboards will eventually mirror through to the surface of your new LVT. We must prepare floorboards with plywood sheeting, and old ceramic tiles must be chemically primed and smoothed over with a latex compound first.
Concrete subfloors can trap moisture that feels completely dry to the touch. If LVT is glued over high-moisture concrete, the water vapor cannot escape, breaking down the chemical bond of the adhesive and causing the tiles to lift and bubble. We test every floor to prevent this catastrophe.
While click-system LVT can be walked on instantly, traditional glue-down installations require the adhesive to fully cure. We recommend keeping heavy foot traffic and furniture off the floor for 24 hours after completion.
