Bring classic sophistication to your home with the North West’s premium selection of herringbone luxury vinyl tiles. From crisp contemporary greys to rich, warm oaks, we offer full-service supply, subfloor preparation, and precision fitting across Manchester and the surrounding counties.

The Elegance of Parquet, Without the Hassle

Herringbone LVT flooring has firmly established itself as the UK’s ultimate statement floor. By blending the grand, architectural zig-zag pattern of traditional wood parquet with the rugged practicality of luxury vinyl, it gives you a high-end designer look that is built for real, everyday life.

Unlike real timber blocks—which are prone to scratching, warping, and moisture damage—modern herringbone luxury vinyl tiles are completely stable, scratch-resistant, and beautifully warm underfoot. It allows you to introduce classic luxury into areas where traditional hardwood fails, such as busy family kitchens, damp bathrooms, and high-traffic entrance hallways.

At Urmston Carpets, we house a massive in-store library of herringbone styles. Whether you prefer a clean Scandinavian light oak click system or a traditional glue-down plank complete with bespoke border details, our team handles everything from the initial free room measurement to the final master-class installation.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We popped into Urmston Carpets as we were looking for a roll end for our small bedroom. We were free to walk round without mither. When we decided on the carpet we wanted Kieran helped us with our purchase and arranged a date for fitting.
On the fitting day we were kept informed by Terry( the carpet fitter) regarding his arrival time and he even arrived earlier than expected. Terry was very polite and professional and treated our home with care and respect. We’re really pleased with the finished job and would definitely recommend and use Urmston carpets in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Urmston Carpets has an amazing choice of carpets to suit ALL budgets. It's not a case of staff asking what colour you want and then bringing out samples from the back a batch at a time - everything is on display. The staff are also fantastic especially Kieran who has the patience of a saint. He helped us move samples to try and match up and recommended what would and wouldn't work for us without pressuring us for a sale. Whilst we were in store we realised how far people were travelling to use Urmston Carpets, not just local people. Would highly recommend to everyone.

Herringbone LVT Flooring FAQs

Does herringbone LVT require a lot of wastage when ordering?

Yes, due to the intricate nature of the interlocking zig-zag cuts at the walls, herringbone typically requires a 10% to 15% wastage allowance compared to 5% to 10% for standard straight planks. Our free measuring service ensures we calculate this precisely to save you money.

Can you install herringbone LVT directly over floorboards?

Not directly. Floorboards naturally move and flex, which can cause LVT joints to fail. We prepare floorboard subfloors by installing a smooth layer of flooring-grade plywood first to create a perfectly rigid, flat surface.

How do you clean and maintain herringbone luxury vinyl?

It’s incredibly simple. Unlike real wood which requires specialist oils or sandings, herringbone LVT just needs a regular sweep and a damp mop with a mild floor cleaner. It won’t stain, fade, or discolor.

Is it possible to use design strips or borders with herringbone?

Yes! If you choose a glue-down herringbone system, our installation teams can install feature strips (inlays that look like grouting or dark wood borders) to frame the room beautifully.
