Why It Pays to Buy LVT In-Store (And Avoid Online Blunders)

Buying LVT online based on a tiny 2-inch screen sample is a massive gamble. Because LVT mimics natural materials, its true depth, texture, and color change dramatically depending on the lighting.

Here is why homeowners across Manchester choose to buy in person at Urmston Carpets:

Feel the Grain & Texture: Run your hands over our large display planks to see the deep embossing and realistic finishes side-by-side.
Accurate Color Matching: Don’t risk ordering a floor that looks completely different under your home’s lighting. Take advantage of our expert showroom lighting and physical samples.
Subfloor Diagnostics: LVT requires a perfectly flat subfloor. Our in-store team will walk you through exactly what prep your home needs (plywood, latex screed, etc.) so you avoid costly fitting mistakes.
No Surprise Delivery Breakages: Online flooring deliveries often arrive cracked or missing boxes. When you buy from us, we manage the entire supply chain directly to your door.
Approved Local Fitters: Finding a reliable installer who knows how to lay complex patterns like herringbone is tough. We supply the floor and provide the trusted fitting team.
Exclusive In-Store Pricing: We have fantastic, showroom-only deals and clearance lines that we simply aren’t allowed to advertise online.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We popped into Urmston Carpets as we were looking for a roll end for our small bedroom. We were free to walk round without mither. When we decided on the carpet we wanted Kieran helped us with our purchase and arranged a date for fitting.
On the fitting day we were kept informed by Terry( the carpet fitter) regarding his arrival time and he even arrived earlier than expected. Terry was very polite and professional and treated our home with care and respect. We’re really pleased with the finished job and would definitely recommend and use Urmston carpets in the future.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Urmston Carpets has an amazing choice of carpets to suit ALL budgets. It's not a case of staff asking what colour you want and then bringing out samples from the back a batch at a time - everything is on display. The staff are also fantastic especially Kieran who has the patience of a saint. He helped us move samples to try and match up and recommended what would and wouldn't work for us without pressuring us for a sale. Whilst we were in store we realised how far people were travelling to use Urmston Carpets, not just local people. Would highly recommend to everyone.

LVT Flooring FAQs

What is the difference between Click LVT and Glue-Down LVT?

Click LVT clicks together seamlessly over a specialized underlay, making it a quicker installation. Glue-down LVT is adhered directly to a perfectly prepared subfloor, offering maximum stability and allowing for custom patterns (like herringbone borders).

Why is subfloor preparation so important for luxury vinyl tiles?

Because LVT is relatively thin and flexible, any imperfections, bumps, or ridges in the floor underneath will eventually “telegraph” through to the surface. We specialize in latex screeding and plywood preparation to guarantee a perfectly flat, flawless finish.

Can LVT flooring be used with underfloor heating?

Yes! Most modern LVT flooring options are excellent conductors of heat and are perfectly safe to use alongside underfloor heating systems.
